Vascular Sonographer Job Requirements
- Current registry or credential in Vascular Sonography required
- BLS certification required
- At least 1 year of professional experience; 1–2 years of vascular sonography experience preferred
- Strong flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing patient and department needs
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach
- Experience with EPIC preferred
- Familiarity with Cannon and/or Toshiba ultrasound equipment preferred
- Travel sonographers must meet the applicable 50-mile distance requirement
Vascular Ultrasound Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality vascular ultrasound examinations in a hospital-based Echo unit
- Prepare patients, explain procedures, and promote comfort and cooperation throughout examinations
- Obtain, document, and communicate accurate diagnostic imaging findings according to department standards
- Operate and maintain vascular ultrasound equipment while following safety and infection-control protocols
- Work effectively with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to support timely patient evaluation and treatment planning
- Provide dependable on-call coverage and respond professionally to urgent diagnostic imaging needs
