Sterile Processing Technician Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $970–$1,040

Sterile Processing Technician Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience in sterile processing or a similar hospital-based role
- Current Sterile Processing Technician certification
- Knowledge of decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution workflows
- Understanding of surgical instrument processing, infection prevention, and quality control standards
- Ability to follow established safety, infection prevention, and compliance procedures
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment
- Reliable attendance and professional communication skills
Sterile Processing Technician Responsibilities
- Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, and distribute surgical instruments and medical equipment
- Verify instrument functionality, completeness, and proper packaging before sterilization
- Operate and monitor sterilization and related sterile processing equipment according to established procedures
- Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation for instrument processing and quality assurance
- Prepare instrument trays and medical supplies for scheduled procedures and urgent clinical needs
- Identify damaged, missing, or improperly processed instruments and escalate concerns appropriately
- Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant sterile processing department
- Collaborate with operating room and clinical teams to support timely, safe patient care
