Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,920 – $2,060
• Location: Plattsburgh, NY 12901 (Lake Champlain area)
• Setting: Hospital Operating Room (OR) – Level III trauma center
• Contract Duration: 16 weeks (April 20, 2026 – August 9, 2026)
• Shift: 10-hour days (07:00 – 19:30)
• Hours per Week: 40
• On Call: 1 night per week; on call once every 3rd to 4th weekend
• Floating: Required to Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) as needed
• Orientation: 2 days

Requirements (Surgical Tech / Surgical Technologist)

• Minimum 2 years recent clinical experience as a Surgical Tech in a hospital OR setting
• Experience in trauma Level II or higher facilities preferred (Level III trauma center experience is a plus)
• Vascular surgical skills required
• Scrub experience preferred; circulating experience required
• Valid New York Surgical Tech license
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• NBSTSA (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification preferred
• Strong clinical knowledge across ortho, robotics, general surgery, ENT, plastics, and neuro
• Prior travel experience preferred (travel surgical tech jobs experience)
• Reliable personal or rental vehicle required (public transportation not accessible)

Responsibilities

• Assist and support surgical procedures across a variety of specialties (excluding cardiac, transplants, neuro, and gastric bypass)
• Perform circulating and scrub roles as assigned in the OR
• Float to the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) as needed
• Participate in patient transports and start IVs when central transport support is unavailable
• Maintain strict adherence to OR dress code, sterile technique, and infection control protocols
• Document patient care and perioperative notes using EPIC EMR
• Participate in on-call rotation and scheduled weekend coverage
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including RNs, OR aides, surgical assists, and anesthesia providers
