Ultrasound Technologist Requirements

• Experience: Recent ultrasound technologist / diagnostic sonography experience (hospital/acute-care preferred)
• Required Skill: Breast ultrasound experience (required)
• Certifications: BLS (AHA) required
• Additional verifications (if working within scope): RCS and/or RDCS-AE verification
• License to Submit: Yes
• Onboarding/Eligibility: Must meet facility onboarding and compliance requirements applicable to the role
• Compliance: Any background-related items must be disclosed at time of submission

Key Responsibilities (Hospital Sonographer)

• Perform non-invasive diagnostic ultrasound procedures within established guidelines and timeframes
• Deliver excellent patient-centered care by explaining procedures, answering questions, and ensuring comfort and privacy
• Support department needs with a strong focus on breast ultrasound imaging
• If credentialed/assigned, perform cardiac ultrasound procedures (e.g., echocardiograms, TTE/TEE, stress echo, structural heart imaging)
• If credentialed/assigned, perform vascular ultrasound procedures (e.g., venous/arterial duplex, dialysis graft studies, venous insufficiency, PVR, ABI)
• Calculate and measure relevant structures from procedure data to support physician interpretation
• Recognize and escalate findings outside normal limits to appropriate medical staff
• Coordinate and prioritize patient scheduling to ensure timely completion of ordered studies
• Document procedures accurately and promptly in the EMR to support clinical communication and billing workflows
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of ultrasound equipment, procedure rooms, and work areas
• Maintain confidentiality of patient and unit information in accordance with policy
