  • Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday

Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, or confirmation that the application process has been initiated
  • At least 1 year of recent ICU or critical care experience required
  • Experience with Level I trauma and high-acuity surgical ICU patients preferred
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications from the AHA
  • Ability to titrate pressors, sedation, paralytics, and insulin drips
  • Comfort reading and interpreting telemetry strips
  • Strong adaptability, communication, and teamwork skills in a fast-paced acute care setting

Responsibilities

  • Provide skilled nursing care for post-surgical, open abdomen, multisystem trauma, and endovascular patients
  • Monitor patient status closely and respond quickly to changes in condition
  • Manage and titrate critical drips according to patient needs and unit protocols
  • Collaborate with intensivists, charge nurses, respiratory therapy, and support staff to deliver coordinated care
  • Document accurately in EPIC and maintain clear, timely communication with the care team
  • Support safe patient flow and assist with floating to lower-acuity units when needed
  • Contribute to a high-performing ICU environment focused on safety, quality, and excellent outcomes
