Travel Nurse Job Details
- Setting: Acute Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
- Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse (Travel RN)

- End Date: 11/30/2026
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour nights
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,020 - $2,130
- Charting System: EPIC
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period
- Holiday Requirement: Every other holiday
- Floating: May float to lower levels of care as needed
ICU Registered Nurse Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of ICU nursing experience required
- Level I trauma or equivalent high-acuity critical care experience preferred
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong experience titrating IV drips, including pressors, sedation, paralytics, and insulin
- Experience caring for post-surgical, open abdomen, multisystem trauma, and endovascular patients
- Ability to independently interpret telemetry strips
- Comfortable working nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled
Travel ICU Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for critically ill Surgical ICU patients
- Monitor and manage complex patients with varying acuity levels and nurse-to-patient ratios
- Titrate IV medications and support hemodynamic stability according to unit protocols
- Collaborate with intensivists, charge nurses, respiratory therapy, and support staff to coordinate patient care
- Assess, document, and respond to changes in patient condition promptly and accurately
- Safely float to stepdown or general medical units when needed, maintaining appropriate patient assignments
- Participate in unit orientation and use EPIC for documentation and workflow
- Deliver compassionate, high-quality care in a fast-paced critical care environment
