Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of 2 years of ICU or neuro ICU experience
- Epic charting experience required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIHSS certification or equivalent stroke competency required
- Experience with high-acuity neurological care preferred
- Comfort working night shifts and weekends as scheduled
- Ability to float within related critical care units as needed
- Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills
Responsibilities
- Provide expert ICU nursing care to patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions
- Perform frequent detailed neurological assessments and monitor for changes in patient condition
- Manage critical care interventions including ventilator support, vasoactive drips, and advanced monitoring
- Assist with procedures such as EVD management, lumbar drain care, and post-craniotomy support
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other support teams to deliver exceptional patient care
- Respond quickly and calmly to surgical emergencies and acute changes in patient status
- Document accurately in Epic and maintain high standards of patient safety and infection prevention
- Support a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and compassionate care
