Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license
  • Minimum of 2 years of ICU or neuro ICU experience
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications
  • NIHSS certification or equivalent stroke competency required
  • Experience with high-acuity neurological care preferred
  • Comfort working night shifts and weekends as scheduled
  • Ability to float within related critical care units as needed
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert ICU nursing care to patients with complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions
  • Perform frequent detailed neurological assessments and monitor for changes in patient condition
  • Manage critical care interventions including ventilator support, vasoactive drips, and advanced monitoring
  • Assist with procedures such as EVD management, lumbar drain care, and post-craniotomy support
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and other support teams to deliver exceptional patient care
  • Respond quickly and calmly to surgical emergencies and acute changes in patient status
  • Document accurately in Epic and maintain high standards of patient safety and infection prevention
  • Support a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and compassionate care
