ICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state compliance verified during onboarding)
- RN critical care certification or demonstrated ICU competency
- No minimum ICU experience required for this assignment; all qualified RNs with critical care skills are encouraged to apply
- Ability to complete onboarding requirements, including background check, drug screen, fit test, immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap), and competency testing
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills for ICU patient care
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, evidence-based ICU nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU and flex pool
- Perform comprehensive assessments and respond rapidly to changes in patient condition
- Administer and titrate IV medications and infusions per provider orders and ICU protocols
- Document patient status, interventions, and outcomes accurately and promptly in the medical record
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized critical care plans
- Educate and support patients and families with compassion and clarity
- Maintain compliance with patient safety, infection prevention, and hospital policies
