  • Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week; every other weekend and some holidays
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
  • Unit Size: 18 beds
  • Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients with complex neuro diagnoses

Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Wisconsin or compact license required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in the specialty within the last 3 years
  • ICU experience required; neuroscience or neurosurgery experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required through AHA
  • Basic arrhythmia knowledge required
  • Ability to pass a telemetry exam prior to start
  • Travel nursing experience required
  • Willingness to float as needed within ICU and IMC patient populations
  • Comfort working nights, weekends, and occasional holidays

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients with neurological and neurosurgical conditions
  • Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and post-operative neurosurgical needs
  • Perform advanced critical care interventions, including hemodynamic monitoring and hypothermia protocols
  • Care for patients requiring EVDs, lumbar drains, ICP monitoring, ventilator support, and vasoactive drips
  • Safely interpret telemetry and respond to changes in cardiac rhythm and patient condition
  • Document accurately in Epic and collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
  • Support infection prevention, patient safety, and evidence-based critical care practices
  • Adapt quickly to changing patient needs while contributing to a supportive, team-oriented environment
