- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; every other weekend and some holidays
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
- Unit Size: 18 beds
- Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients with complex neuro diagnoses
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Wisconsin or compact license required
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience in the specialty within the last 3 years
- ICU experience required; neuroscience or neurosurgery experience preferred
- Epic charting experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required through AHA
- Basic arrhythmia knowledge required
- Ability to pass a telemetry exam prior to start
- Travel nursing experience required
- Willingness to float as needed within ICU and IMC patient populations
- Comfort working nights, weekends, and occasional holidays
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients with neurological and neurosurgical conditions
- Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, and post-operative neurosurgical needs
- Perform advanced critical care interventions, including hemodynamic monitoring and hypothermia protocols
- Care for patients requiring EVDs, lumbar drains, ICP monitoring, ventilator support, and vasoactive drips
- Safely interpret telemetry and respond to changes in cardiac rhythm and patient condition
- Document accurately in Epic and collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members
- Support infection prevention, patient safety, and evidence-based critical care practices
- Adapt quickly to changing patient needs while contributing to a supportive, team-oriented environment
