ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel contract in Philadelphia, PA (19140). 13-week night shift caring for ED boarders and high-acuity patients.

Join a dynamic healthcare team in Philadelphia, PA, supporting patient safety, throughput, and continuity of care during high hospital census. We are seeking experienced ICU RNs (critical care nurses, travel nurses) for a 13-week travel contract to provide inpatient-level critical care to admitted patients boarding in the Emergency Department (ED boarder care).

- Setting: Emergency Department – ICU Boarder Care (ED boarder, inpatient nursing)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (April 20, 2026 – July 19, 2026)
- Shift: Night Shift (19:00 – 07:30), 12-hour shifts
- Hours per Week: 36 hours (3 x 12-hour shifts)
- Employment Type: Travel / Travel Nurse

Required Qualifications (ICU RN / Critical Care Nurse)
- At least 1 year of recent critical care experience required (ICU RN experience preferred)
- Active RN license (Compact or Pennsylvania RN license as applicable)
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Competency with ventilators, vasoactive drips, and other high-acuity patient management strongly preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient-level nursing care to admitted patients boarding in the Emergency Department (ED boarder care)
- Manage up to 2 ICU boarder patients per shift, including ventilated patients and those on vasoactive infusions
- Perform ventilator management, titration of drips, and other critical care interventions within RN scope
- Collaborate with ED physicians, hospitalists, ICU teams, and inpatient services to ensure smooth transitions of care
- Demonstrate strong clinical skills, independent decision-making, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Maintain flexibility to support other units temporarily if organizational needs change
- Communicate clearly with interdisciplinary teams and support staff to promote patient safety and quality outcomes
