ICU Registered Nurse (RN) – Float Pool | Travel Assignment – Philadelphia, PA (19140)
ICU Registered Nurse (RN) travel assignment in Philadelphia, PA 19140 — 13-week contract for experienced critical care RNs with a PA RN license, BLS, and ACLS. Join a dynamic float pool and work across ICU, step-down, IMCU, ED ICU-holds, and Women’s & Family ICU settings.

- Location: Philadelphia, PA 19140 (Philadelphia healthcare jobs / Pennsylvania nursing jobs)
- Assignment Length: 13-week travel assignment (May 4, 2026 – August 2, 2026)
- Setting: Float Pool – ICU, Step-Down, IMCU, ED for ICU holds/borders, and Women’s & Family (ICU only)
- Shifts: 3 × 12-hour day shifts per week (07:00 – 19:30), 36 hours/week
- On-Site Position: Travel nurse – on-site clinical role
- Number of Openings: 27 ICU RN positions
Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year of ICU or critical care experience (no new grads)
- Current Pennsylvania Registered Nurse License (RN-LIC) required
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Required
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) – Required
- TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) – Preferred
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills; demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced critical care settings
- Ability and flexibility to float to all ICU and step-down units as needed
Responsibilities
- Assess, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients in the intensive care unit under the direction of a licensed physician
- Float across multiple critical care areas including adult ICU, step-down, IMCU, and ED for ICU holds/borders
- Provide specialized care in Women’s & Family ICU settings (orientation provided for float nurses)
- Collaborate with patients, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to individualize and coordinate care plans
- Direct and supervise nursing support staff in accordance with standards of nursing practice
- Maintain safe patient ratios (typically not exceeding 1:3) and practice safe critical care nursing standards
- Be prepared for mid-shift float assignments to any unit or hospital as required by staffing needs
- Adhere to all administrative, clinical, and departmental policies and procedures
