- Setting: Inpatient rehab and acute care
- Location: Topeka, KS 66606
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: 10/14/2026
- Schedule: Day shifts, 4x10-hour schedule
- Shift Duration: 10 hours
- Hours per Week: 40
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,910-$2,050
- Charting System: Epic
- Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics
- Caseload: Approximately 10-14 patients between acute and rehab
- Pre-Approved Time Off: 1 week
Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of Speech-Language Pathologist experience required
- Current Kansas SLP license in hand
- BLS certification required
- Experience with acute care and inpatient rehabilitation preferred
- Experience treating dysphagia, cognitive deficits, and language deficits
- Ability to complete evaluations and treatments for rehab patients
- Strong documentation skills with Epic or similar EMR experience

Responsibilities
- Evaluate and treat patients with swallowing, language, voice, and cognitive-communication disorders
- Provide speech therapy for patients with stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and other neurological conditions
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs, goals, and progress
- Complete bedside swallow evaluations and other clinically appropriate assessments
- Deliver effective 45-minute treatment sessions in rehab and acute care settings
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to support safe discharge planning and patient goals
- Document care accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record
- Help patients improve communication, swallowing safety, and functional independence
