Job Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in medical coding; Interventional Radiology (IR) or radiology coding experience preferred
- Proficiency with Epic and 3M coding systems (Epic coder, 3M CodeFinder experience helpful)
- Strong understanding of procedural coding, especially CPT/HCPCS coding for Interventional Radiology
- Attention to detail and commitment to coding accuracy, compliance, and billing integrity
- Ability to work on-site in Boston, MA (local candidates preferred for immediate start)
- Preferred: CPC, CPC-H, or radiology/IR specialty coding certification (not required)
Responsibilities
- Specialize in coding Interventional Radiology (IR) outpatient and inpatient procedures with accuracy
- Code and validate IR procedures to ensure billing integrity, reimbursement accuracy, and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with clinical staff, billers, and administrative teams to resolve coding discrepancies and documentation gaps
- Stay current with coding guidelines, CPT updates, payer rules, and industry best practices for radiology and IR coding
- Meet productivity and quality standards and contribute to the success of the medical coding team
