- Contract Duration: 13 weeks (5/24/2026 – 8/23/2026)
- Hours per Week: 36 (Guaranteed hours)
- Shift Schedule: Day/Night rotation; 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM–7:30 PM, 11:00 AM–11:30 PM, 3:00 PM–3:30 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: 3 of 6 weekends per contract
- Employment Type: Travel RN / Travel Nursing
- Patient Population: Pediatrics, Adolescents, Adults
Job Requirements / Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience on a pediatric vascular access team (HemeOnc, ICU, or similar settings) — experience as a Pediatric Vascular Access Nurse or PICC nurse preferred
- Registered Nurse (RN) license – Permanent license in hand required (active in state of practice)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
- Proven expertise in ultrasound-guided IV placement, vein finder techniques, and difficult-access pediatrics
- Proficiency with PICC lines, peripheral IVs, ports, and vascular access troubleshooting
- Ability and willingness to float throughout the hospital to support multiple units as needed
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Two professional references from two of the last three places worked (different facilities)
Key Responsibilities
- Perform ultrasound-guided IV insertions and vascular access procedures for pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients as an IR RN / Vascular Access RN
- Assess venous anatomy and recommend appropriate IV access types (PICC, midline, peripheral IV, tunneled/port access)
- Insert and manage PICC lines, ports, and peripheral IVs; monitor and troubleshoot vascular access devices
- Provide timely, patient-centered care with a focus on comfort and safety for pediatric patients
- Float throughout the hospital to support emergency, ICU, oncology, and general pediatrics units as needed
- Adhere to hospital policies, infection-control standards, and vascular access best practices
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, radiology, nursing, and vascular access specialists) to optimize patient outcomes
