Job Requirements
- Active RN license (New Jersey license or a compact state RN license)
- Minimum 1 year of recent clinical experience in Interventional Radiology (IR) or Operating Room (OR) nursing
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills relevant to IR nursing
- Excellent communication, patient education, and teamwork abilities
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures as an IR nurse
- Monitor patient status before, during, and after IR procedures and communicate changes promptly
- Assist physicians and technologists with imaging-guided procedures and ensure patient safety
- Administer medications and IV sedation as ordered and observe for adverse reactions
- Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with hospital protocols and regulatory standards
- Educate patients and families about procedures, post-procedure care, and discharge instructions
