Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
- Active Registered Nurse license eligible for assignment
- Compact RN license in hand at submission, if applicable
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring
- Experience with sterile vaginal exams required
- Strong EPIC charting experience required
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and variable holiday coverage as scheduled
- Experience in high-volume maternity or high-acuity perinatal settings preferred
- Ability to adapt in a collaborative, fast-paced healthcare environment
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for laboring, postpartum, antepartum, and high-risk perinatal patients
- Monitor fetal heart patterns and respond appropriately to maternal and fetal status changes
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and recovery care as needed
- Support postpartum couplet care, breastfeeding education, and newborn assessments
- Perform sterile vaginal exams and assess labor progression
- Administer medications and therapies including Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, insulin drips, and IV fluids per protocol
- Manage emergencies such as postpartum hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, and preterm labor
- Collaborate closely with providers, surgical techs, CNAs, and interdisciplinary care teams
- Deliver safe, compassionate patient-centered care while maintaining strong communication and teamwork
