Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse license
  • Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery RN experience required
  • Compact RN license in hand at submission, if applicable
  • Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate or Relias Fetal Monitoring, and AWHONN Advanced
  • Strong experience with sterile vaginal exams
  • Epic charting experience required
  • High-volume maternity care experience preferred, ideally 200+ deliveries annually
  • Strong clinical skills in fetal monitoring, labor support, postpartum care, and emergency response
  • Must be comfortable floating to Postpartum
  • First-time travelers may be considered
  • Must be willing to work 3 of the 5 major holidays when scheduled

Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, high-quality care for labor, delivery, antepartum, and postpartum patients
  • Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond promptly to changes in condition
  • Assist with vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, and high-risk births
  • Perform sterile vaginal exams and support labor progression assessments
  • Manage common L&D interventions such as Pitocin, magnesium sulfate, and fetal monitoring
  • Support breastfeeding, newborn assessment, and postpartum recovery education
  • Collaborate closely with providers, surgical staff, and ancillary care teams
  • Maintain accurate documentation in Epic and follow unit protocols
  • Promote a calm, supportive environment for patients and families
