- Position: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse
- Assignment Type: Travel Nurse RN
- Location: Show Low, AZ 85901
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,250 - $2,370
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift Duration: 12-hour day shifts
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Schedule Notes: Weekend coverage required; call approximately one shift per 4-week schedule
- Charting System: Allscripts
- Setting: Acute care Labor & Delivery unit with couplet care capability
- Floating: May float to ED, MedSurg, or other appropriate units if experienced
Job Requirements
- Active RN license
- At least 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience required; 3+ years preferred for high-risk obstetric care
- ACLS, BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM) required
- Strong fetal monitoring skills, including recognition and response to fetal distress
- Experience caring for patients with pre-eclampsia and other high-risk OB conditions
- C-section experience required
- Ability to work confidently in the absence of an in-house OB provider until support arrives
- Ability to function in both L&D and couplet care as census requires
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to laboring, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients
- Monitor maternal and fetal status and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Support vaginal deliveries, C-sections, triage, and couplet care assignments
- Manage OB emergencies with strong assessment skills and sound clinical judgment
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to deliver high-quality patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow unit protocols and best practices
- Adapt to unit needs, including occasional floating when experienced and appropriate
