Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Tracy, California
Make a meaningful impact as a Labor & Delivery travel nurse in Tracy, California. We’re seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment supporting families through labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. Provide attentive obstetric and newborn care while collaborating with an interdisciplinary healthcare team. Tracy offers a welcoming Central Valley setting, with local parks, dining, and convenient connections to the Bay Area and Sacramento.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Tracy, California (95376)
- Healthcare Setting: Acute obstetrics and labor & delivery
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,570–$2,710
- Schedule: 3 night shifts per week; 12-hour shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: December 7, 2026
Labor & Delivery RN Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NRP Provider certification
- Advanced fetal monitoring certification or qualification
- Certifications must be current and issued by AHA or ARC
- Comfort and experience caring for newborns and postpartum patients
- Previous charge nurse experience preferred
Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate nursing care to obstetric patients throughout labor, delivery, recovery, and the postpartum period.
- Assess patients, triage obstetric care needs, and monitor fetal status using external fetal monitoring.
- Assist with vaginal deliveries, circulate for cesarean sections, and support cesarean recovery.
- Administer and monitor therapies and medications, including oxytocin and magnesium sulfate, according to clinical protocols.
- Provide newborn care, including APGAR scoring, and support maternal-newborn bonding.
- Maintain IV access, manage pain interventions, and document patient care accurately.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to promote safe, high-quality outcomes for patients and families.
