Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a lab tech in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting
- Relevant certification or licensure as required by New Jersey state regulations (e.g., Medical Laboratory Technician - MLT or equivalent)
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accurate clinical diagnostics
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and on-site availability in Salem, NJ
- Familiarity with lab safety and compliance (HIPAA, CLIA) preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory tests in accordance with hospital protocols and clinical diagnostic standards
- Prepare, label, and process specimens for analysis, ensuring chain-of-custody and specimen integrity
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and analyzers
- Ensure accurate documentation, data entry, and timely reporting of test results in the laboratory information system (LIS)
- Assist clinicians and healthcare teams by delivering reliable lab results that support patient care decisions
- Maintain quality control (QC) procedures and a clean, safe laboratory environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience in hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, or blood bank
- Phlebotomy experience and strong specimen handling skills
- Familiarity with electronic lab systems (LIS) and basic troubleshooting
- ASCP certification or equivalent is a plus
