Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (compact or state license valid for travel assignment)
• BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
• Minimum 1 year of bedside clinical experience (2 years highly desired)
• LTAC, long-term acute care, or similar acute care/medical-surgical experience preferred

Responsibilities — LTAC RN / Night Shift

• Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission to develop individualized care plans
• Provide skilled LTAC nursing care focused on patient recovery, rehabilitation, and quality outcomes
• Supervise Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
• Participate in and support patient rehabilitation programs, emphasizing education and discharge readiness
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching from admission to promote safe transitions of care
• Communicate changes in patient status to the interdisciplinary care team to ensure continuity and safety
• Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies and safety protocols
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary staff and support team building on the unit
• Maintain communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and training needs
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested and support efficient unit operations
• Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study to enhance LTAC nursing skills
