Registered Nurse (RN) – LTAC Night Shift travel nursing job in Madison, WI. 13-week contract, BLS & ACLS required, 3x12-hour night shifts. Join our long-term acute care (LTAC) team and support patient recovery and rehabilitation in Madison, Wisconsin.

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (state of Wisconsin license preferred)
  • BLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
  • ACLS Certification (required prior to first shift)
  • Minimum 1 year of bedside clinical experience (2 years strongly preferred)
  • Experience in LTAC, long-term acute care, or similar acute/rehabilitation settings preferred
  • Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and care planning skills

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments within 8 hours of patient admission (LTAC nursing assessments)
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
  • Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care using the nursing process
  • Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching beginning at admission to support successful transitions of care
  • Communicate changes in patient status to providers to ensure continuity and patient safety
  • Supervise and provide direction to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
  • Promote patient and employee safety by adhering to hospital policies, infection control, and safety procedures
  • Contribute positively to unit teamwork and participate in team-building activities
  • Maintain communication with management regarding supplies, equipment, and training needs
  • Assume charge nurse responsibilities as requested (charge nurse / shift leader duties)
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and continuing education relevant to LTAC and critical care nursing
