  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,400 - $1,470 (competitive travel nursing pay)
  • Location: Seward, Alaska (99664) — Alaska nursing jobs, Seward AK long-term care
  • Assignment Duration: 13 or 26 weeks (traveler's choice)
  • Start Date: April 21, 2026
  • Shifts: 12-hour shifts, 4 shifts per week (Days: 07:00-19:30 or Nights: 19:00-07:30; shift assignment to days or nights is determined by facility needs at the time of start date and is not based on traveler preference)
  • Hours Per Week: 36
  • Setting: Long Term Care Facility (40 beds, adult and geriatric population)
  • Patient Ratio: 1:20
  • Travel Assignment: On-site only; no local candidates accepted (must live at least 50 miles from facility)

Job Requirements / Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year recent Long Term Care (LTC) experience required (long-term care LPN)
  • Previous travel nursing experience required (travel LPN)
  • Active Alaska LPN license in hand (required at time of submission)
  • BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
  • Willingness to obtain Alaska Food Worker Certification (completed during orientation; $10 fee)
  • References: Minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
  • Must be willing to float within scope to meet facility needs (may float to affiliate hospitals)
  • Must be willing to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
  • Ability to provide valid driver's license and proof of insurance if accepting facility-provided vehicle (must be at least 25 years old)
  • Not accepting first-time travelers or local candidates

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, high-quality care to adult and geriatric residents in a long-term care setting (LPN scope)
  • Monitor and document vital signs, administer medications, and manage feeding tubes and Foley catheters
  • Perform wound care, respiratory treatments, IV hydration (PRN), and phlebotomy lab draws
  • Assist with bathing, mouth care, ambulation, and infection control including isolation precautions/PPE
  • Communicate patient status changes to RN/MD and participate in interdisciplinary care team meetings
  • Utilize ECS charting system for accurate documentation
  • Float within facility or to affiliate hospitals as needed to meet staffing needs
  • Adhere to facility policies and participate in orientation and required competency modules
