Job Requirements

• Minimum two (2) years of bedside clinical experience
• ICU experience with skills applicable to Long-Term Acute Care Hospital (LTACH) settings
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required prior to first shift
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) required prior to first shift
• Previous supervisory or nurse manager experience preferred
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensure delivery of quality patient care by assuring nursing care plans are followed and updated
• Provide nursing leadership and clinical supervision to Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and orientees
• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission and develop individualized care plans
• Identify patient and family teaching needs and establish measurable goals
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and coordinate discharge planning for continuity of care
• Communicate pertinent patient status updates to interdisciplinary care providers
• Provide direction, training, and supervision to ancillary nursing personnel to promote clinical excellence
• Promote patient and staff safety by adhering to hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
• Foster a positive unit environment through calm leadership, team building, and strong communication
• Maintain ongoing communication with management regarding staffing, service needs, and supplies
• Assume charge/manager responsibilities as requested during night shift operations
• Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-directed learning
