Overview
We are seeking a dedicated RN to support a 32-bed Med/Surg Neuro unit serving adult and geriatric patients. This night shift nursing job offers the chance to work with a collaborative care team, support a variety of patient needs, and grow your clinical experience in a healthcare environment that values adaptability, patient safety, and high-quality care.
Job Details
- Job Title: Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Neurology
- Location: Albuquerque, New Mexico
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Schedule Options: 36 or 48 hours per week
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,570 - $1,650
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Unit Size: 32 beds
- Charting System: Epic
- Call: No call required
- Float: Floating to like units may be required based on facility needs
- Weekend Commitment: 6 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license
- Minimum of 1 year of recent nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required; pending completion may be accepted
- CPI preferred
- Experience with a 1:6 patient ratio preferred
- Comfortable working nights in a fast-paced Med/Surg environment
- Epic experience preferred
- Ability to float to like units as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to adult and geriatric patients on a Med/Surg Neuro unit
- Monitor patient conditions, respond to changes, and escalate concerns appropriately
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and facility protocols
- Support patients with admissions, discharges, and ongoing plan-of-care coordination
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote positive patient outcomes
- Maintain accurate documentation in Epic
- Assist with rapid response activation and support unit needs as part of a team-oriented environment
- Adapt to floating assignments within like units when required
