- Employment Type: Travel Nursing Contract
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
- Location: Lynchburg, VA 24501
- Start Date: 10/05/2026
- Duration: 20 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour nights
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Orientation: Occurs every other Monday
- Scheduling Note: Flexibility is required to meet unit staffing needs; block scheduling is not available
- Holiday Requirement: Must work at least one major holiday during the assignment
Job Requirements
- Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license at time of submission
- 2+ years of experience in Med/Surg, Medical-Surgical, or a relevant nursing specialty
- Prior travel nurse experience required
- BLS certification required
- ACLS preferred
- Charge nurse experience preferred
- Experience in a teaching hospital environment is a plus
- Must be comfortable supporting students and new hires in a collaborative clinical setting
- Ability to work with limited RTO and adapt to census-based scheduling
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate care to Med/Surg patients in a Diabetic Renal Unit
- Perform thorough patient assessments, monitor conditions, and respond to changes in status
- Administer medications, treatments, and ordered interventions in accordance with nursing standards
- Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary care teams, and support staff to coordinate patient care
- Serve in a charge RN capacity when assigned, with appropriate training and differential
- Support a positive learning environment by interacting professionally with students and new hires
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold quality, safety, and patient-centered care practices
- Adapt to unit needs, including census-driven adjustments and weekend scheduling as required
