Med/Surg Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 - $1,890
• Location: Albany, GA 31701 (Albany, Georgia travel nursing)
• Role: Med/Surg Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nurse / Travel Registered Nurse
• Setting: Acute Care Med/Surg Unit (44 beds)
• Assignment Duration: 17 weeks (April 13, 2026 – August 10, 2026)
• Shift: 12-hour days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM)
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Med/Surg nursing experience (Med/Surg RN)
• Active RN license in Georgia or compact state (travel nurse friendly)
• BLS certification (AHA required)
• NIHSS certification (AHA required)
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred (EMR / electronic charting experience a plus)
• Ability to float to acute care, cardiac, or emergency care (EC) units as needed
• Must meet strict 75-mile radius requirement from address on driver's license to hospital

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver patient-centered care on a busy 44-bed Med/Surg unit (acute care RN duties)
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5, occasionally 1:6
• Collaborate with nurse aides and multidisciplinary clinical support teams (CNA ratios 1:8, generally 1:10)
• Monitor, document, and communicate patient progress using Meditech EMR
• Participate in unit orientation, EMR training, and travel nurse onboarding
• Float to other acute care areas and assist with surge or specialty needs
• Work holidays and follow facility call/shift policies as required
