• Unit: General Medical-Surgical Inpatient Nursing (EXT-Other 911)
• Patient Ratio: 1:6 (medical-surgical nurse staffing)
• Floating/Call: Floating and call rotation required
• Scheduling: Blocked scheduling may be accommodated (request must be included at submission)
• Scrub Color: Any color
• EMR: MedHost (experience with MedHost EMR preferred)
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,800 - $1,890

Job Requirements / Qualifications

• Experience: 2+ years of recent Med/Surg RN experience required (medical-surgical inpatient nursing)
• License: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — New Mexico RN license or compact/multistate RN license accepted
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS required (AHA); PALS preferred
• Compliance: Fingerprinting required for all New Mexico travel nurses
• Flexibility: Ability to float and participate in call rotation as needed
• Skills: IV therapy, medication administration, focused assessments, strong clinical judgment and documentation skills in MedHost

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care to a diverse medical-surgical inpatient population as a Travel RN/Med-Surg RN
• Perform focused assessments, monitor patient status, and escalate changes in condition to providers promptly
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per provider orders and facility protocols
• Accurately document patient care and assessments in MedHost EMR in a timely manner
• Collaborate with physicians, case management, and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and post-discharge instructions to support positive outcomes
• Support unit operations by floating to appropriate areas and responding to scheduled call needs as a flexible travel nurse
