Job Details

• Location: Kerrville, TX 78028 — Texas Hill Country, ~1 hour from San Antonio
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,730 - $1,820 per week
• Position: Travel Med/Surg RN / Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Inpatient)
• Unit: 2 West Med Surg Unit (36 beds)
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks (April 6, 2026 – July 6, 2026)
• Shift: Day Shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts per week (06:45 – 19:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Patient Ratio: 1:5 (medical-surgical ratio)
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
• Floating: Required to float to 3W and other units as needed
• Facility Housing: Available

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (AHA BLS required)
• Minimum 1 year recent Med/Surg RN experience (medical-surgical clinical background)
• Travel RN experience required — no first-time travelers
• Charting / electronic medical record (EMR) system experience required
• Preferred certifications: ACLS, PALS, CPI
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions allowed)
• Must be able to work 3 out of 5 winter holidays if assignment overlaps
• Local candidates within 50 miles not accepted (travel nursing assignment)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-quality inpatient care across the lifespan (adolescents, adults, geriatrics) as a Med/Surg RN
• Manage a 1:5 patient assignment, prioritizing patient safety, clinical accuracy, and positive outcomes
• Perform Med/Surg nursing duties including central line blood draws, IV management and IV therapy, wound care, telemetry monitoring, and post-surgical care
• Participate in rapid response and code team activities when needed
• Float to other units and adapt to changing patient acuity and unit needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV team, PT, RT, pharmacy, social services) to coordinate care
• Maintain accurate documentation in the charting system and uphold infection control and isolation precautions
