• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour day shifts
• Average Hours Per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 2-3 weekends per month, based on unit need
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $1800-$1890

Key Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years recent experience as a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Med/Surg RN)
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Active Virginia RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Teaching hospital experience, precepting, or charge experience preferred
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application
• Ability to collaborate with students, new hires, and multidisciplinary teams in a teaching hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to adult patients on a busy surgical Med/Surg unit
• Provide mentorship and clinical support to students and new hires as part of a teaching hospital team
• May assume charge nurse responsibilities (with appropriate training and pay differential)
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and ancillary staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and best practices for surgical and medical-surgical care
• Participate in orientation and ongoing training as required
