Job Requirements (Med/Surg RN Qualifications)

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical (Med/Surg) nursing experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• NIHSS certification
• Ability to pass dysrhythmia exam (two attempts allowed)
• Strong clinical assessment, medication administration, and documentation skills

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients on Medical Unit 4
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and document care in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (physicians, therapists, nursing staff) to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on treatment, recovery, discharge instructions, and post-discharge resources
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and compliant clinical environment, following infection control and patient safety protocols
• Demonstrate professionalism and effective communication as part of a fast-paced travel nursing assignment
