Registered Nurse Job Details

Med/Surg Telemetry RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Ohio or an active compact-state RN license in hand at the time of submission
• At least 1 year of recent permanent medical-surgical telemetry nursing experience
• Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association
• Active Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Active NIHSS certification
• Strong telemetry monitoring, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and rhythm recognition skills
• Ability to complete required orientation assessments and clinical competencies
• Professional reference from a manager, supervisor, assistant nurse manager, or director in the specialty within the past 12 months
• Ability to meet applicable background screening, health screening, and onboarding requirements

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult medical-surgical telemetry patients during overnight shifts
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, recognize changes in patient condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Perform focused and comprehensive nursing assessments while developing and updating individualized plans of care
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document patient care clearly and accurately in the electronic medical record
• Promote patient safety, infection prevention, and adherence to hospital and nursing standards
