Med-Surg Telemetry Registered Nurse – Travel RN Contract in Winston-Salem, North Carolina

Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,640 - $1,730
- Setting: Medical-Surgical Telemetry
- Employment Type: Travel RN assignment
- Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts, 18:45 - 07:15
- Hours: 36-48 hours per week may be offered
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Float Requirement: Floating required to other Med/Surg units as needed
- Orientation: 36 hours
- Charting System: Epic preferred
- Start Date: 09/28/2026

Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Registered Nurse (RN) experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Must have successfully completed at least 2 prior travel assignments
- Current RN license; compact or North Carolina license accepted, pending license may be considered for submittal
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred
- Ability to complete EKG testing prior to start
- IV start experience required
- Telemetry experience preferred
- Strong comfort with a fast-paced Med/Surg Telemetry environment
- Willingness to work with adult and geriatric patient populations
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric Med/Surg Tele patients
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately to telemetry changes
- Manage a broad range of patient conditions, including GI concerns, anemia, infections, renal issues, and post-surgical recovery
- Perform IV starts and maintain peripheral line care as needed
- Support medication administration, blood product administration, and heparin protocols
- Provide respiratory support such as oxygen administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, and non-invasive airway care
- Assist with wound care, surgical drains, and rapid response situations when needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate efficient, patient-centered care
- Adapt quickly to a high-turnover unit and maintain strong organization under pressure
- Float to other Med/Surg units as assigned while maintaining excellent clinical standards
