Qualifications / Job Requirements
- Minimum of 18 months recent, permanent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required (telemetry monitoring, medical-surgical nursing)
- Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or Compact State (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (AHA or American Red Cross)
- One supervisory reference in the specialty (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) required
- Ability to pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation
- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical or religious exemptions considered)
- Must be able to work at least every other holiday during the contract
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care to adult patients on a busy Med/Surg Telemetry unit
- Perform continuous cardiac/telemetry monitoring and interpret ECG rhythms; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, advanced practice providers, and ancillary staff to coordinate care
- Float to similar units (J1-2, J33, and ED) as needed to support hospital operations and staffing needs
- Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record in accordance with hospital policies
- Participate in orientation and ongoing training, including ECG and medication safety assessments (safeMedicate)
- Maintain compliance with hospital, state, and regulatory requirements
