Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa OR a valid compact state RN license
• Recent clinical experience in a Med/Surg Telemetry or telemetry nurse role
• Proven ability to monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry rhythms
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association preferred)
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts, including scheduled weekends and holidays
• Strong critical thinking, clinical assessment, and communication skills
• Willingness to complete onboarding requirements: health screenings, background checks, and competency testing

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and effective nursing care to Med/Surg Telemetry patients, including orthopedic post-op patients
• Continuously monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms; escalate changes to the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per provider orders and unit protocols
• Perform focused assessments, wound care, pain management, and post-operative orthopedic nursing tasks
• Collaborate with physicians, physical/occupational therapists, case management, and other clinical staff to optimize patient outcomes
• Provide patient and family education on care plans, mobility precautions, medications, and post-discharge instructions
• Accurately document nursing assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Participate in unit-based quality improvement, safety initiatives, and maintain compliance with hospital policies
