Travel Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Pennsylvania
- At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience
- Demonstrated ability to care for adult patients with varied medical and surgical needs
- Strong cardiac monitoring, clinical assessment, and patient-prioritization skills
- Ability to work three 12-hour night shifts per week and float between medical-surgical and telemetry assignments as needed
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain it before the assignment begins
- Reliable communication, teamwork, and electronic medical record documentation skills
Med/Surg Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients on medical-surgical and telemetry units
- Monitor cardiac rhythms, vital signs, laboratory results, and changes in patient condition
- Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
- Complete focused and comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized plans of care
- Recognize and promptly escalate signs of deterioration or emergent clinical needs
- Collaborate with providers and the interdisciplinary care team to support positive patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record
- Float between medical-surgical and telemetry areas while maintaining high standards of safe, compassionate patient care
