Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Nursing Contract in Hettinger, North Dakota

Travel RN Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250
- Location: Hettinger, North Dakota
- Start Date: November 23, 2026
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 22, 2027
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour night shifts with weekend coverage
- Patient Population: Adult medical-surgical, telemetry, pediatric, and postoperative patients
- Scheduling: Self-scheduling with potential block scheduling based on unit needs
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, with the possibility of every third weekend
- Charting System: MEDITECH
Med/Surg Tele Registered Nurse Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Dakota
- At least 1 year of recent medical-surgical or telemetry nursing experience
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- PALS certification preferred
- Experience in a similarly sized acute-care facility preferred
- Ability to care for adult and pediatric patients in a combined medical-surgical and telemetry unit
- Strong telemetry interpretation, patient assessment, and clinical judgment skills
Travel Nurse Responsibilities
- Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care for medical-surgical, telemetry, pediatric, and postoperative patients.
- Monitor patients with conditions including congestive heart failure, pneumonia, COPD, atrial fibrillation, bundle branch block, RSV, dehydration, and postoperative needs.
- Interpret telemetry strips independently using bedside cardiac monitoring equipment.
- Titrate medications such as diltiazem, heparin, and amiodarone according to policy and patient response.
- Manage respiratory support equipment and therapies, including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen.
- Collaborate with providers, respiratory therapy, nursing assistants, and the broader interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
- Support emergency department operations when needed, including assisting with patient care and starting IVs.
- Participate in weekend and holiday coverage, with possible additional low-census call requirements.
