• Setting: Heart Failure / Stroke Unit – Med/Surg Telemetry (Telemetry Nurse)
• Start Date: May 26, 2026
• End Date: August 23, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour days (07:00–19:00), every other weekend, holidays as required
• Hours per Week: 36 (option for 48 hours per week available)
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,840 – $1,940 (competitive travel nurse pay)
• Parking: Available
• Dress Code: Solid Navy Scrubs

Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Alabama or Compact State (no temporary licenses accepted)
• Associate's degree in Nursing required (ASN)
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification or willingness to obtain
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred; will consider candidates with at least 18 months of experience, including 1 year of recent Med/Surg Telemetry (telemetry nurse) experience
• Ability and willingness to float to other units and hospitals as needed (flexible travel nurse)
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred (electronic medical record experience)

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients with neurological and cardiac diagnoses, including congestive heart failure and acute stroke
• Perform continuous telemetry monitoring and cardiac assessments; recognize and respond to arrhythmias and acute changes in condition
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of nurses, cardiologists, and neurologists to deliver best-practice clinical care
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions, progress, and telemetry data accurately in the EMR
• Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments as prescribed while following hospital protocols
• Provide patient and family education on care plans, recovery, and discharge instructions for cardiac and stroke patients
• Float to other units or hospitals as required to support patient care needs and staffing demands
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
