- Call: No call required
- Floating: May float to like units within scope
- Patient Ratio: 1:6
- Orientation: Provided onsite
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- At least 1 year of recent neuro nursing or medical-surgical nursing experience required
- BLS certification required
- NIHSS certification required; pending completion may be accepted
- CPI certification preferred
- Experience caring for adult and geriatric patients preferred
- Ability to work night shift travel nursing assignments and manage a 1:6 patient ratio
- Comfortable using Epic electronic health record (EHR) charting
- Ability to adapt to floating within similar units as needed
Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate nursing care to neuro medical-surgical patients
- Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes in condition
- Support rapid response activation when clinically indicated
- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members to promote positive patient outcomes
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress accurately in Epic
- Maintain a high standard of patient safety, infection prevention, and unit workflow
- Assist with floating to like units while staying within scope of practice
