Job Details

• Position Type: Locum Tenens Nurse Practitioner – Neurology
• Location: Rockford, IL 61108 (Northern Illinois)
• Setting: Inpatient Neurology / Acute Care
• Shifts: 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 3 shifts per week
• Weekly Hours: 36 hours
• Duration: 13 weeks, with potential for extension
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $5,120 – $5,490
• Call: No call required

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• Active Nurse Practitioner license in Illinois (required)
• Minimum 1 year of NP experience, preferably in neurology, stroke, or acute care settings
• Strong background in stroke management and general neurology
• Ability to work collaboratively with attending neurologists, ED teams, and multidisciplinary hospital staff
• Excellent clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient rounding and management of neurology patients
• Complete new patient consults and follow-up assessments
• Manage stroke alerts and respond to acute ED and transfer evaluations
• Provide pre- and post-operative management for endovascular cases
• Handle intermittent clinic in-basket management and EMR documentation
• Collaborate closely with attending neurologists and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
