- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts (19:00 - 07:30)
- Schedule Options: 4x12s with no call, or 3x12s with call availability
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,770-$1,870
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend, based on unit needs
- Floating: May float to other NICU units or facilities as needed
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in South Carolina
- BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications required
- At least 2 years of NICU experience required
- Previous experience in NICU II and NICU III settings required
- Minimum 1 year of Epic EMR experience required
- Travel nursing experience required
- No first-time travelers
- Experience caring for neonates with complex medical and surgical needs preferred
- Ability to work night shifts and support weekend coverage
Responsibilities
- Provide expert bedside care for neonates and infants in a high-acuity NICU environment
- Monitor and assess babies born as early as 22 weeks gestation and greater
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and support blood product administration
- Care for infants with diagnoses such as respiratory distress, sepsis, HIE, hypoglycemia, drug exposure/withdrawal, and congenital anomalies
- Assist with advanced neonatal procedures including chest tubes, tracheostomy management, therapeutic hypothermia, and surgical recovery
- Support respiratory interventions such as HFOV, HFNC, Bubble CPAP, ventilator management, and oxygen delivery systems
- Document patient care accurately in Epic and collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team
- Provide family education, developmental support, and compassionate care throughout the newborn’s hospitalization
- Adapt quickly to floating assignments while maintaining safe, quality care standards
