Job Details
- Position: Registered Nurse – NICU
- Location: Lubbock, TX
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,940-$2,040
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Duration: 26 weeks
- Start Date: 10/19/2026
- Schedule: Self-scheduling with block scheduling expectations
- Weekend Coverage: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week scheduling period
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Setting: Level IV NICU
- Float Support: May float to pediatric, PICU, or pediatric ED areas as needed
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license; compact license must be in hand at submission
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU nursing experience required
- Level III NICU experience preferred in this high-acuity environment
- BLS and NRP Advanced required
- Epic charting experience required
- Strong neonatal assessment and critical care skills
- Ability to work assigned weekend and holiday coverage
- Comfortable floating when needed to support nearby units
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe, compassionate neonatal intensive care to infants with complex medical and surgical needs
- Monitor and manage babies with conditions such as prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, and HIE
- Support advanced respiratory care, including ventilator management, CPAP, HFNC, and oxygen delivery systems
- Administer medications, blood products, and neonatal therapies according to established protocols
- Perform central line care, IV management, thermoregulation support, and neonatal assessments
- Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary care team to promote excellent patient outcomes
- Document accurately in Epic and communicate clearly with families and team members
- Assist with feedings, developmental care, and family education to support each infant’s progress
