NICU Registered Nurse – Travel Assignment in Lubbock, Texas | Level IV NICU

  • Shift: 12-hour day shifts
  • Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
  • Orientation: 40 hours
  • Schedule: Self-scheduling with block scheduling expected
  • Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period
  • Float Requirement: May float to PRN Pediatrics, PICU, or pediatric ED as needed

Job Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand; compact license required at submission
  • Minimum of 2 years of NICU nursing experience
  • Level III NICU experience preferred
  • BLS and NRP required
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Experience caring for neonatal patients with ratios of 1:2-4
  • Ability to work weekends and meet scheduled holiday requirements
  • Comfortable floating between nearby units or sister facilities as needed
  • Strong clinical skills in neonatal assessment, respiratory support, and high-acuity patient care

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to neonates in a Level IV NICU
  • Monitor and support infants with prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, HIE, and surgical needs
  • Manage advanced NICU therapies and equipment, including CPAP, ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, chest tubes, and central lines
  • Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies according to neonatal standards
  • Perform assessments, document patient care in Epic, and communicate changes in condition promptly
  • Provide family education, status updates, and compassionate bedside support
  • Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
  • Maintain safety, infection control, and developmentally appropriate care practices
  • Float as assigned and remain flexible to meet unit and patient care needs
