- Shift: 12-hour day shifts
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours per week
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,940 - $2,040
- Orientation: 40 hours
- Schedule: Self-scheduling with block scheduling expected
- Weekend Requirement: 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period
- Float Requirement: May float to PRN Pediatrics, PICU, or pediatric ED as needed
Job Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in hand; compact license required at submission
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU nursing experience
- Level III NICU experience preferred
- BLS and NRP required
- Epic charting experience required
- Experience caring for neonatal patients with ratios of 1:2-4
- Ability to work weekends and meet scheduled holiday requirements
- Comfortable floating between nearby units or sister facilities as needed
- Strong clinical skills in neonatal assessment, respiratory support, and high-acuity patient care
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to neonates in a Level IV NICU
- Monitor and support infants with prematurity, respiratory distress, hypoglycemia, sepsis, HIE, and surgical needs
- Manage advanced NICU therapies and equipment, including CPAP, ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, chest tubes, and central lines
- Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies according to neonatal standards
- Perform assessments, document patient care in Epic, and communicate changes in condition promptly
- Provide family education, status updates, and compassionate bedside support
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care
- Maintain safety, infection control, and developmentally appropriate care practices
- Float as assigned and remain flexible to meet unit and patient care needs
