Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
- Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- End Date: February 1, 2027
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130-$2,250
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
- Unit: Level II NICU with 31 beds and typical 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratios
- Charting and Medication Systems: EPIC and Pyxis
- Orientation: Mandatory weekday orientation during the first two weeks, including eight-hour days
NICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Level III NICU nursing experience
- Current Indiana Registered Nurse (RN) license, or eligibility to obtain one
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care to neonates in an acute-care setting
- Flexibility to float to age-appropriate pediatric or pediatric intensive care areas as needed
Travel NICU RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex newborns
- Assess neonatal patients, identify changes in condition, and promptly communicate clinical concerns
- Administer medications and treatments safely while following neonatal protocols and provider orders
- Monitor vital signs, respiratory status, nutrition, and developmental needs
- Collaborate with providers, families, and the interdisciplinary care team to support individualized treatment plans
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EPIC
- Use Pyxis and other unit equipment in accordance with safety and infection-control standards
- Provide education and emotional support to families during the neonatal care experience
- Float to appropriate pediatric or pediatric intensive care assignments when required
