Travel Registered Nurse (RN) – Level II NICU | Fort Wayne, Indiana
Experienced NICU Registered Nurse needed for a 13-week travel nursing contract in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Provide compassionate, high-acuity neonatal care on night shifts while supporting newborns and their families.
Travel Nursing Job Details
- Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 2, 2026
- Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.
- Hours: 36 hours per week
- Unit: Level II NICU with 31 beds and typical 1:1 or 1:2 patient ratios
- Charting and Medication Systems: EPIC and Pyxis
- Orientation: Mandatory weekday orientation during the first two weeks, consisting of eight-hour days
- Additional Scheduling: May float to age-appropriate Pediatric or PICU assignments
- Dress Code: Caribbean blue scrubs
NICU Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of Level III NICU nursing experience
- Current Indiana Registered Nurse license, or eligibility to obtain one
- Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Strong neonatal assessment, prioritization, and interdisciplinary communication skills
- Ability to attend all required orientation days
Neonatal Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, evidence-based nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex newborns
- Monitor neonatal patients, recognize changes in condition, and respond promptly to clinical needs
- Administer medications and treatments accurately while following neonatal safety protocols
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in EPIC
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and the broader care team
- Support and educate families throughout the neonatal care journey
- Float to age-appropriate Pediatric or PICU assignments as needed and within competency
