Nuclear Medicine Technologist Jobs – 13-Week Travel Contract in Odessa, Texas

Join a collaborative nuclear medicine team in Odessa, Texas, as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week travel healthcare contract. In this hospital-based role, you will support diagnostic nuclear medicine, nuclear cardiology, PET, and cardiac imaging services while using advanced nuclear medicine technology. Odessa is a welcoming West Texas community known for its friendly atmosphere, convenient amenities, and access to outdoor recreation throughout the Permian Basin.

Travel Job Details

  • Location: Odessa, Texas
  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,420–$2,600
  • Assignment Type: 13-week travel contract
  • Start Date: November 24, 2026
  • End Date: February 23, 2027
  • Schedule: 5 shifts per week
  • Shift: 8-hour day shifts, approximately 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
  • Call: On call as needed
  • Healthcare Setting: Hospital-based Nuclear Medicine department
  • Electronic Medical Record: Cerner experience preferred

Nuclear Medicine Technologist Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • Current CNMT certification or ARRT(N) certification
  • Current BLS certification
  • Experience with nuclear medicine imaging, cardiac studies, and specialty procedures
  • Knowledge of radioactive material handling, storage, and disposal procedures
  • Ability to start IVs and draw venous blood as needed
  • Strong attention to detail, patient safety, and radiation safety practices
  • Flu vaccination is required; applicable medical or religious exemptions and declinations may be considered

Nuclear Medicine Technologist Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine examinations, including bone, brain, liver, renal, gastric, whole-body, and thyroid studies
  • Conduct HIDA scans, MUGA scans, PET scans, ventilation/perfusion studies, parathyroid scans, and uptake studies
  • Perform nuclear cardiology procedures, including stress testing with pharmacologic agents such as adenosine, Persantine, and sestamibi
  • Support exercise and rest imaging protocols, including single- and multiple-day studies
  • Prepare patients, explain procedures, administer radiopharmaceuticals as authorized, and monitor patients throughout examinations
  • Start and maintain IV access and obtain venous blood samples when required
  • Operate and care for nuclear medicine equipment, including Siemens systems when applicable
  • Maintain accurate documentation while following hospital policies, isolation precautions, and radiation safety standards
  • Participate in on-call coverage as needed
