Job Details

  • Shift: Varied 12-hour rotating shifts (7am–7am); clinic days typically 8:30am–3pm with 1-hour lunch
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Call Ratio: 1:4; weekend coverage required
  • Support Staff: OBHG hospitalist team, surgical assistants, 3–4 nurses per shift
  • EMR: EPIC (EPIC EMR documentation required)

Required Qualifications

  • Board Certified OBGYN / ABMS board certification in Obstetrics & Gynecology (ABOG)
  • Active Virginia medical license (required prior to start)
  • Active VA DEA and CSR
  • BLS certification (AHA)
  • Minimum 1 year of clinical OBGYN experience (hospital and clinic experience preferred)
  • Ability to cover both clinic responsibilities and hospital call duties (C-sections and deliveries)
  • Clean background required for temporary privileges; NPDB self-query during presentation

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive obstetrics and gynecology care across hospital and clinic settings
  • Manage labor and delivery, including C-sections and vaginal deliveries
  • Perform essential OBGYN procedures: suction D&C, management of ectopic pregnancies, treatment for ovarian torsion, evaluation and management of abnormal bleeding
  • Collaborate with Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) for high-risk obstetric patients
  • Participate in call coverage, respond to answering service calls, and round on admitted patients
  • Accurate, timely documentation in EPIC EMR and coordination with multidisciplinary care teams
