Travel Emergency Department Technician (ED Tech) – Alameda, CA 94501

Overview
We are seeking a dependable and compassionate Emergency Department Technician to support patient care in a high-volume acute care and emergency room environment. In this role, you will assist with direct patient support, clinical procedures, monitoring, and essential bedside tasks while working alongside a collaborative interdisciplinary healthcare team.

- Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)

- Hours Per Week: 36
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,080 - $1,160
- Location: Alameda, CA 94501
- Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend
- Orientation: Provided at the start of assignment
Job Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in an acute care or emergency department setting
- Valid California EMT, EMT-P, or comparable certification required at time of submission
- Current BLS certification required
- Ability to support care for adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics in a fast-paced ED environment
- Experience with patient care tasks such as vital signs, EKGs, wound care, and mobility assistance
- Strong communication skills and a patient-first approach
- Comfortable working in a busy, team-based healthcare environment
Responsibilities
- Obtain and record vital signs, blood pressure, and other basic patient measurements
- Assist with CPR, cardiac monitoring, and 12-lead EKG/ECG acquisition
- Support patient ambulation, turning, positioning, feeding, and comfort needs
- Assist with splinting, crutch instruction, wound irrigation, and wound care
- Help with patient safety measures, including restraint application and behavioral support when needed
- Use equipment such as glucometers, crutches, walkers, and patient transfer devices
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe care environment
- Collaborate closely with nursing and clinical staff to support efficient patient flow and quality patient care
