- Orientation: Approximately 40 hours; schedule may vary during the first 1-2 weeks
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,630 - $1,750
- Work Environment: High-acuity surgical services with opportunities to support complex and specialized cases
Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of scrub experience or equivalent relevant experience
- Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program, or 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience may be considered in lieu of program completion
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Experience with ENT, ophthalmology, and plastic surgery cases preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a teaching hospital environment
- Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, instrument handling, and OR safety practices
- Comfort with call responsibilities and a flexible schedule
- Ability to support patients across multiple age groups, including adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
Responsibilities
- Prepare the operating room prior to surgery to ensure readiness and safety
- Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating needs and maintaining sterile technique
- Support patient safety throughout the surgical experience
- Care for instruments, supplies, and specialized equipment used during surgery
- Participate in a variety of complex surgical cases, including ENT, eye, and plastic surgery procedures
- Work with specialized equipment and microscopes used in advanced surgical services
- Maintain efficient workflow in a fast-paced operating room setting
- Collaborate with the surgical team to deliver high-quality patient care
