Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) / OB Scrub Tech Travel Job – Labor & Delivery in Seattle, WA

Experienced OR Technicians and surgical technologists can join a 13-week travel assignment in Seattle, Washington, supporting Labor & Delivery procedures as an OB scrub tech. Bring your surgical expertise to a fast-paced setting, collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team, and help provide safe, high-quality care for adult patients. Located in Seattle’s 98122 area, this opportunity offers access to diverse neighborhoods, local restaurants, arts and culture, parks, and the city’s waterfront attractions.

Travel Surgical Technologist Job Details

  • Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,760–$1,890
  • Location: Seattle, Washington 98122
  • Department: Labor & Delivery / Surgical Services
  • Assignment Type: 13-week travel assignment
  • Start Date: October 19, 2026
  • End Date: January 18, 2027
  • Schedule: 3 shifts per week, 36 hours per week
  • Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
  • Orientation: 36 hours
  • Scheduling: Weekend coverage is required; flexibility to work designated holidays is expected
  • Assignment Flexibility: Travelers may be asked to float to nearby affiliated locations based on operational needs

OR Tech and Surgical Technologist Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of recent OR or surgical technologist experience, including strong Labor & Delivery experience
  • Experience supporting obstetric procedures and working in an operating room scrub role
  • Current BLS certification
  • Current surgical technologist certification through NBSTSA or NCCT; CST credentials accepted as applicable
  • Demonstrated competency with aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, specimen handling, and universal protocol
  • Strong knowledge of decontamination, sterilization, disinfection, and instrument-processing procedures
  • Two professional references covering at least one year of recent clinical experience may be required during compliance
  • Ability to complete required onboarding, competency modules, and assignment documentation before and during orientation

OB Scrub Tech and Operating Room Technician Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms and Labor & Delivery procedure areas for scheduled and urgent obstetric procedures
  • Serve as a scrub technician during vaginal deliveries, C-sections, dilation and curettage, cervical cerclage, bilateral tubal ligation, and gynecologic procedures
  • Support abdominal and vaginal hysterectomy, anterior/posterior repair, and laparoscopic-assisted gynecologic procedures
  • Select, arrange, pass, and maintain surgical instruments and supplies according to procedural requirements
  • Maintain a sterile field and follow aseptic technique, sharps safety, fire safety, and universal protocol standards
  • Assist with electrosurgical units, single-instrument procedures, wound care, dressing changes, and suture removal as assigned
  • Handle, label, and transport specimens accurately and in accordance with established procedures
  • Perform room turnover and coordinate proper decontamination, disinfection, sterilization, and instrument processing
  • Collaborate with nurses, physicians, anesthesia professionals, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to promote efficient patient care
